Alabama State Parks Website Undergoes Major Redesign

MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' State Parks Division, in collaboration with Alabama Interactive, unveiled a newly redesigned Alapark.com this month. Alapark.com is the State Parks Division's official website and highlights key travel and event information for all of Alabama's state parks. The new website design not only creates a more interactive experience for users but also is built on the most up-to-date Drupal web editor to ensure a secure environment.

The website redesign encompasses many custom features that were built solely for Alapark.com by Alabama Interactive:

  • Video enabled homepage slider
  • Customizable microsites for each park
  • Interchangeable section that shuffles featured programs to increase the visibility of high-traffic services

The website design was created with park visitors of all ages and interests in mind. The website features a Parks Adventure section on the homepage to highlight activities available at various parks throughout the state from fishing to cave tours. Park events and specials are emphasized on both the homepage and on each park page to drive participation and revenue. The color scheme and style of the website was purposefully chosen to align with the division's brand but also connect with the natural beauty of the state parks highlighted throughout the site.
