Online Domestic LLC Filing Now Available in Alabama for Baldwin County

MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alabama Interactive, in collaboration with the Alabama Secretary of State, has recently launched an addition to the already existing Domestic Pre-Filing application, allowing companies to form a Domestic LLC at both the state and county level online. The new online Domestic LLC Filing service is currently available for Baldwin County, creating a one-stop online filing system, which further decreases the processing time and improves the efficiency of business filings in Alabama. Users of the service can complete both their name reservation and filing all in one transaction.

"We are proud to offer a new convenient business one-stop service to further expand our online presence for the citizens of Alabama," said Secretary of State John H. Merrill. "The creativity and innovation brought to the table by this new service has allowed us to grow online beyond our expectations. We look forward to continuing to provide Alabama with cutting-edge technology as we expand this filing option to more Alabama counties."

While the new online complete filing system is currently only available for Baldwin County, the Domestic Pre-Filing application, launched early 2016, is still an option for counties not yet participating in online filing. Service adoption is expected to increase as other counties in the state have begun to show interest in participating in the online Domestic LLC Filing program as well as the prospective addition of other domestic entity types.

"The new filing system responds to citizens' and businesses' requests for easier filing access and greater efficiencies in online interactions," said Jonathan Kimbrough, president and general manager of Alabama Interactive, which developed the application in conjunction with the Secretary of State's office. "The new one-stop service is a solution for greater efficiency and ease in registering to do business with the state, promoting new technology, and growth of businesses in Alabama."
