Kentucky Labor Cabinet Launches New Website

New Website Features Enhanced Look and Feel

FRANKFORT, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Kentucky Labor Cabinet launched its new website featuring a modern look and feel as well as an enhanced user experience. The website was designed to reflect and expand the Labor Cabinet's mission of advancing Kentucky's workforce by protecting its workers, compensating the injured, and promoting employer excellence in order to ensure Kentucky's place as a hub of innovation and distinction in America and around the world.

"When we began early discussions about a new website, we knew we needed something that would better help us to interface with users in the most efficient and effective manner possible," said Labor Cabinet Secretary Derrick Ramsey. "With our new design, we placed the considerations of Kentuckians first – taking a close look at the information and services users consistently access on our website and discussing ways in which this could be enhanced. In the end, we're proud to have a product that accomplishes this by helping us increase our level of customer service to the citizens of the Commonwealth."

The website, labor.ky.gov, is presented in a responsive design, allowing citizens of the Commonwealth the ability to access information and resources across multiple devices. The website also features an interactive chatbot named Ava - the first chatbot in use for government services in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Ava is a conversational interface built on Google AI technology and powered by machine learning. Ava provides rich interaction based on natural language and can answer questions related to apprenticeship, workers' compensation and workplace standards on the Labor Cabinet's website.

The Labor Cabinet's website was redesigned by Frankfort-based Kentucky Interactive, LLC, aka Kentucky.gov, via a public-private partnership.
