Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Unveils New Website

AUGUSTA, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife announced the launch of its completely redesigned website available at The website was developed by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in partnership with InforME, the state's digital government portal provider. The website serves as a centralized location for outdoor resources available throughout the state of Maine.

"The website has been modernized to meet the needs of Maine's sportsmen and sportswomen," commented Emily MacCabe, the Department's Graphics and Media Supervisor. "The website allows visitors to educate themselves about Maine's diverse outdoor opportunities and learn ways in which they can help us to protect these resources for generations to come."

Created with a user-first experience in mind, the website provides a number of unique features to make interaction with the department easy from any device including:

  • An updated layout based on activity such as hunting and trapping, fishing, boating, ATVing and snowmobiling;
  • Intuitive search methods for safety education courses, laws, and rules;
  • An updated look and feel, which highlights key areas of the website based on user statistics and showcases topics of interest; and,
  • A news and events section, which allows visitors to stay informed about the latest department press releases, events, and blog entries.

In addition to the updates on the website, the site also promotes the department's social media presence with links to the department's Instagram, Facebook, Twitter , and YouTube offerings.
